Decision support by interval SMART/SWING – methods to incorporate uncertainty into multiattribute analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Interval judgments are a way of handling preferential and informational uncertainty in multicriteria decision analysis. In this paper, we study the use of intervals in SMART and SWING weighting methods. We generalize the methods in three ways: (i) the reference attribute is allowed to be any attribute, not just the most or least important one, (ii) the decision maker can reply with intervals to the weight ratio questions to account for his/her judgmental uncertainty, (iii) the reference attribute can also be given as an interval to describe, e.g. the ambiguity of the attribute. We address practical and procedural matters implied by the use of minimum number of judgments in the weight ratio elicitation. Computer support can be used to make the weighting process visual and interactive. We describe the WINPRE software for interval SMART/SWING, PAIRS and preference programming. The use of interval SMART/SWING is illustrated by a job selection example.

Decision Support by Interval SMART/SWING - Incorporating Imprecision in the SMART and SWING Methods
Interval judgments are a way of handling preferential and informational imprecision in multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA). In this article, we study the use of intervals in the simple multiattribute rating technique (SMART) and SWING weighting methods. We generalize the methods by allowing the reference attribute to be any attribute, not just the most or the least important one, and by allo...

This paper describes several possible sensitivity analyses associated with a generic multi-attribute Decision Support System, which is capable of considering all the steps in the Decision Analysis cycle and is aimed at aiding decision-makers in the choice of the most preferred alternative. The system evaluates the set of alternatives through an additive multiattribute utility function that allo...
متن کاملUsing a New Method to Incorporate the Load Uncertainty into the SEP Problem
In this paper, a new method is conducted for incorporating the forecasted load uncertainty into the Substation Expansion Planning (SEP) problem. This method is based on the fuzzy clustering, where the location and value of each forecasted load center is modeled by employing the probability density function according to the percentage of uncertainty. After discretization of these functions, the ...
متن کاملA Multi-Criteria Analysis Model under an Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Environment with an Application to Production Project Decision Problems
Using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) to solve complicated decisions often includes uncertainty, which could be tackled by utilizing the fuzzy sets theory. Type-2 fuzzy sets consider more uncertainty than type-1 fuzzy sets. These fuzzy sets provide more degrees of freedom to illustrate the uncertainty and fuzziness in real-world production projects. In this paper, a new multi-criteria ana...
